Internet Safety Resources for
Parents & Educators

NetSmartz: this web site represents a division of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. It was created to provide valuable information resources and videos for parents and educators to teach young children and teens to be safe and smart when using the Internet.

Keeping Kids Safer on the Internet: this booklet in .pdf format provides excellent reading for parents and guardians on keeping their children safe when they are surfing the web.

Information such as dates of birth, addresses, and phone numbers should not be given out freely on the web. Children should ask permission before using a webcam or posting a picture on the Internet. It's important to speak to your children about the dangers of the Internet. About 1 in 5 children received a sexual solicitation over the Internet in 2006.

Check out the educational videos in our gallery to view and listen to the stories of Internet victims.
