Bridge to College

Bridge to College

The goal of the Bridge to College Program at Phipps Community Education Center is to provide historically disadvantaged middle school students, high school students, GED students, and former high school dropouts with the information and skills they need to achieve their post-secondary educational goals.

Our objective is to communicate the benefits of lifelong learning, increase access to higher education opportunities, and prepare students for success in college and beyond. The program provides students and their families with the information and support they need to navigate the college application, standardized testing, and financial aid processes through workshops, presentations, college tours, and individual counseling.

Middle School Early Awareness

Through a series of workshops, the Middle School Early College Awareness Program encourages middle school students to aspire to higher education. This program strives to empower younger students to make informed decisions about their educational paths and to prepare for high school and college. The program provides participants with realistic approaches and sources of support to assure students that college is always an option.

College Experience / SAT Prep

The College Experience provides high school juniors with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the college application process. This program provides students with weekly college and career exploration workshops as well as weekly SAT prep classes. Students participate in college fairs, tours, and presentations in order to gain a thorough understanding of the various aspects of college access.

Individual Counseling

Our advisors provide students with one-on-one consultations regarding school selection and applications, college essays, standardized testing, financial aid, and career exploration.
